Oliver “Boy” Johnson Jr. was born on Nov. 18, 1946, passed away on Feb. 27, 2013, surrounded by his children and family.
Oliver was born in Morenci and lived in Mammoth and Tucson. Oliver was a loving and proud father, grandfather, brother, husband, uncle and friend. He enjoyed barbequing in the company of his family, playing softball, fishing, and displaying his prized scorpion collection.
Oliver is survived by his wife, Magdalena Johnson; children, Theresa Soqui (Alfonso Soqui), Olivia Medina and Oliver Johnson III. He leaves behind his five brothers, five sisters, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Norma Sandoval; three stepchildren, and two step-grandchildren. The lucky people, who were blessed to know Johnson, met a man who was a proud father, friend, and someone who only saw the best in every person he met.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with a Rosary at 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Mammoth. Interment followed at the Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.
