New face at Superior Town Hall

Arlene Diaz-Gonzalez is the new Administrative Assistant at Town Hall.

When you go into town hall, you will be greeted by a new face sitting at the front desk – Arlene Diaz-Gonzalez, the newest hire at Town Hall. Arlene was recently hired on as an Administrative Assistant and her duties include:  manning the front desk, taking payments, greeting and helping customers, and answering phones. She will also assist with accounts payable and accounts receivables. The town staff is a small crew and Arlene is a much welcomed addition. Arlene will be cross training with the other administrative staff so that she can cover when someone is on vacation or sick.

Arlene was born and raised in Superior. She worked 18 years for an insurance company in Mesa and then two years in retail at the San Tan mall.

Family is very important to Arlene and one of the reasons she decided to work for Town Hall.

“I wanted to be closer to home,” she said.

Traveling back and forth for work for so many years has been hard, especially since she has three sons who play football, baseball and basketball.

When asked if she has any hobbies, Arlene says, “I don’t have any spare time with three boys.” But she does have time to volunteer as a District Administrator for District 4 Little League.

What she likes so far about the job are the people she is working with at Town Hall. And she likes that she gets to greet people at the front desk.

“I’m getting a chance to meet new people,” she said.

There are challenges to her new job – working for a town means Arlene will have to learn all the intricacies of government administration. But Arlene is more than ready to take on this new challenge.
