Neighborhood Watch meets with Sycamore Canyon officials

Okay, folks, it looks like all of our hard work with Sycamore Canyon Academy (SCA) staff is paying off. We did our tour, and, with our meeting last month, we are well on our way to repairing the damage that was created by the federal government and their total lack of transparency surrounding the undocumented Central American youth that flooded our country.

Much was discussed and mediums in communication were established, so that the ambiguous and convoluted messaging put out by the feds in regard to this issue will no longer be creating the division in our community; and, because of our efforts in resolving this problem, the Sheriff’s Department representatives will be escorted on a separate tour coming up this week. Hopefully, this will resolve some of their procedural issues with the school.

When all is said and done, we of the Oracle Neighborhood Watch (ONW) can take great pride in conflict resolution. As we all well remember, this was once a big problem not so long ago, and, had we not taken it upon ourselves to find a remedy, SCA, a school that is doing a very good job under severe circumstances, would still be at odds with members of our own community

Special thanks to the program director Ike Shipman, his staff and youth for a very warm welcome and presentation of the Rite of Passage Program. They have much to be proud of. Ch. 4 KVOA news out of Tucson will have an in-depth report on the program tonight at 6 pm. by reporter Lauren Reimer.
