The Mountain Vista School track team received good news last week as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Head Coach Elizabeth Tilley says the track team will be receiving a grant for approximately $1,600 which will be used to purchase equipment. The grant is from the USA Track and Field Foundation. Coach Tilley wanted to thank Oracle School Board member Linda Lyon for telling her about the grant and introducing her to Trixie Bluvstein and Tom Jackovic of the USA Track and Field Foundation.

This year’s track team has 28 members. It is coached by Elizabeth Tilley, Assistant Head Coach Brady Whitman and volunteer Ron Victor. “We are proud of our team spirit,” said Coach Tilley. “We have some really strong runners this year and expect to do well in competition.” The first track meet of the year is in San Manuel on March 5 at 3:45 p.m. The track schedule follows; all meets begin at 3:45 p.m.
