Movie filmed locally to premiere Saturday

San Manuel Miner

The movie Blessed Encounters which has scenes filmed in San Manuel and Mammoth will have its premiere Saturday, June 13, at 9 p.m. at the Loft Theatre in Tucson.

Blessed Encounters is directed by Alberto C. Ojeda and is a Fuerte Productions film. Alberto also plays the part of Sgt. Beto Escalante. The film stars Antonella Cassia as Faith and Mario Bedoya as Alex Castillo. Three budding actors from the Tri-Community are in some scenes: Al Gutierrez who plays a doctor, Lisa Rodriguez and Natalie Ivy as nurses. Scenes involving the three locals were filmed at Sun Life Family Health Center in San Manuel.

Many of the cast and crew will be at the premiere.

The Loft is located at 3233 E. Speedway.
