Molly Garcia Lopez

Molly Garcia Lopez has gone to be with our Lord on Sept. 19, 2016.

Molly was born to Beatriz and Prudencio Garcia on Aug. 27, 1941, in Ray, AZ. She resided in Sonora, AZ for 12 years and later moved to San Manuel, AZ where she met the love of her life, Alex Q. Lopez. They married and moved to Hayden, AZ for 15 years; then moved to Tucson, AZ where she resided the remainder of her years of life.

Molly was a charismatic, loving and generous person, who above all else was a very devout Catholic woman – she always practiced and lived her life as such. She was always ready and willing to instill and teach the importance of her faith and religion to all around her, most importantly her two children and numerous grand- and great-grandchildren.

Molly’s favorite pastimes included spending quality time with her large and ever growing family as well as enjoying her love for mariachi music.

Molly is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alex Q. Lopez Sr.; son, Alex Lopez Jr.; daughter, Lisa L. Santa Maria; grandchildren, Phillip, Alex, Enrique, Alexis and Mariah Lopez, Cassandra Montijo, Sharisse Ochoa, Tony Jr., Devin and Garrett Santa Maria; as well as 17 great-grandchildren. Molly is also survived by her three sisters, Beda Zapata, Anna Polanco, Dilly Castro; and one brother, Phillip Garcia.

Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 22, at Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd., Tucson, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass was celebrated on Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Interment followed at Holy Hope Cemetery.
