On Thursday, Sept. 22, the Miner Swimmers hosted a three way swim meet against the Gregory School from Tucson and Immaculate Heart High School from Oro Valley.  It was the last home swim meet of the year for the Miners.  San Manuel High School won both the Girls and Boys Meets.  The team scores for the Girls were:  San Manuel 84, Gregory 66, Immaculate Heart 24.   The Boys scores were:  San Manuel 56, Gregory 48, Immaculate Heart 7.

The Miner Boys won all 7 of 11 events at the meet.  The Medley Relay team of Robert Sweeney, Michael Primero-Predgo, Colbey Stratton and Michael Garcia started things off with a win for the Miners.  The Boys went on to win 4 of the next 6 events (Garcia – 200 IM, Stratton – 50 Free, Primero-Predgo 100 Free, and Sweeney 400 Free).  The same 4 boys won the 200 Freestyle relay.  Primero-Predgo won the 100 Backstroke taking the distinction of the only San Manuel swimmer at the meet to win all 4 events.

The Miner Girls won 6 of 11 events at the meet.  Raya Woods again showed that she knew exactly how to pace the 200 Freestyle taking the lead at the 100 yard leaving the competition behind. Gianna Sweeney won the always close 50 Freestyle. After the break, Darien Apuron won the 100 Butterfly, Gianna Sweeney won the 100 Freestyle and Raya Woods won the 400 Freestyle.   The meet ended with the Miners winning the final relay: the team of BaiLee Hill, Jasmine Smith, Zara Allmendinger, and Bonnie Bridges won the 400 Freestyle relay sealing the win for the Miners.

Zara Allmendinger was named Dynamite Swimmer of the Meet by team captains for her outstanding swims at the meet.

On Thursday, Sept. 29, the Miners will travel to the Oro Valley Aquatic Center to face Pusch Ridge Christian Academy and Amphitheater High School at 4 p.m.
