The San Manuel baseball team defeated San Carlos last Tuesday, 15 – 5. The win was the Miners fifth straight and helped propel them to No. 18 in most recent 2A baseball rankings that were released on Apr. 9.
Alejandro Camacho had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in three runs to lead the Miners’ offensive attack. Angel Barriga, a sophomore, also had three RBI in the win. Christian Estrada and Javy Tamayo each had two hits and two RBI against the Braves.
In all, nine Miners’ hitters combined for 14 hits in the game.
Josh Sharp, Ceazar Guerrero and Angel Barriga combined on the mound to allow five runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and four walks.
