The San Manuel boys’ basketball team handed Superior its fourth loss in-a-row last Wednesday, defeating the Panthers at home, 64 – 49. With the win, the Miners ended their own three-game losing streak.

Even with the win, the Miners have only won 2 of their last 7 games, but remain a game above .500 with a record of 10 – 9, which includes a 2 – 4 record in sectional play.

For the Panthers, now 5 – 10 on the season, it’s their second four-game losing streak in their last 10 games. They lost four straight at the 34th Annual Copper Cities Tournament from Dec. 11-12. They defeated Cibecue and Hayden in their last two games before the holiday break and are winless since resuming play on Jan. 6

Superior’s upcoming schedule: Jan. 23 vs. Joseph City and Jan. 27 at Hayden.

San Manuel’s upcoming schedule: Jan. 22 at Globe and Jan. 27 at Ray.

All games are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
