The San Manuel varsity baseball team headed over to Superior on March 26 to face off with the Panthers and returned home with the 16 – 4 win in five innings.

On the mound for the Miners was T.J Brown who went five innings giving up four runs on seven hits, five walks, and struck out six batters; Brown picked up the win.

Offensively, Marty Rodriguez went 3 for 3 with three singles and three runs scored; Andy Monfred went 3 for 4 with a double and two singles and two runs scored; Shane Kelly went 2 for 2 with a triple and a single, two walks, and three runs scored; John Ruiz went 2 for 4 with a double and triple, and two runs scored; Anthony Garcia went 2 for 4 with a double and a single, and scored one run.

Head Coach Steve Elmore said, “We played very good today as a team. There was timely hitting by many great players and great pitching by T.J Brown. We are starting to come together as a team and need to keep improving this week and for the rest of the season.”

The Miners hosted Superior on Tuesday. They will travel up to Miami on Thursday, and return for a match-up between the Globe Tigers, with the varsity playing at 2 p.m. and the JV playing at 4 p.m.
