The Miners recently hosted the 2015 San Manuel Rotary Invitational with both the boys’ and girls’ teams winning the championship. The boys’ runner-up was Florence and the girls’ runner-up was St. Augustine.

The Miners boys’ results: 4×800 Relay (Colton Stratton, Juan Ortega, Patrick Lopez, James Duarte) – 2nd; 4×100 Relay (Andres Rodriguez, Randy Verdugo, Andrew Gomez, Jose Damian) – 3rd place; 4×400 Relay (Randy Verdugo, Antonio Montes, Andrew Gomez, James Duarte) – 2nd place; Jared Gonzales(110HH – 2nd, 300IH – 2nd); Andres Rodriguez (110HH – 1st, 300IH – 3rd); Jose Damian (100m – 5th, 200m – 3rd, and Javelin – 3rd); Carlos Salas (Pole Vault – 1st, 110HH – 3rd, 300IH – 4th); James Duarte (1600m – 3rd, 800m – 4th); Colton Stratton (800m – 2nd); Andrew Gomez (400m – 4th, Long Jump – 6th); Antonio Montes (400m – 6th); Marco Salas (Pole Vault – 2nd); Juan Ortega (200m – 6th); Patrick Lopez (Pole Vault – 3rd, 3200m – 4th); Jacob Medina (High Jump – 3rd, Javelin – 2nd, Long Jump – 5th, Triple Jump – 3rd); Taylor Woods (Javelin – 1st, Shot Put – 5th, High Jump – 4th); Broc Traweek (Triple Jump – 6th); Michael Sanchez (Discus – 2nd, Shot Put – 3rd); Isaac Gonzalez (Discus – 5th, Shot Put – 6th); Austin Clark (Javelin – 6th).

The Miners hosted and competed in the Division IV, Section II South Championships on Tuesday, April, 28, 2015. Information on the outcome of that meet was not available at press time.
