Melba Jo McCutcheon, 83, entered Heaven’s Gates on June 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family in Tucson, Arizona.
Melba was born on Feb. 26, 1932 in her parent’s home outside the town of Perryville, Texas. Melba was the fourth child and beloved daughter of Clarence and Vonnie Comer.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her brothers, Clifford and Royce Comer; her husband of 34 years, Luther “Wayne” McCutcheon; and her daughter, Patricia Bartels.
Melba is survived by her sisters, Glenna Rowe and Mary Gilbreath; the children of Patricia Bartels, Bryan, Courtney, and Stephanie; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Debbie McCutcheon and their children, Dionne, Kristin, and Meagan; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Dawn McCutcheon and their children Christopher, James, Pamalla, Amanda, Alisha; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Wayne and Melba ministered for 32 years, and for 7 years Wayne was pastor of the First Baptist Church of San Manuel. Melba loved music, singing for the Lord, planting flowers and working in her garden.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, June 13, at the First Baptist Church of San Manuel, AZ. Interment followed at West Haven, Phoenix, AZ.
