The weather has turned cooler and it is great to see many of our local residents decorating for the fall holidays. I am always excited to see the creativity of our residents, take some time to cruise your neighborhood or take a walk to see these homes.

Over this past month you may have noticed the slogan “I am Superior” being used on social media.  This is a new brand that is being adopted throughout our community.  It was selected by several residents as a way to promote Superior and build pride in the community.  This slogan is part of the Business Attraction and Retention program coordinated through the Superior Chamber of Commerce.  We encourage you to start using it in your social media and photos.

As we continue to grow this brand and promote our community there will be several outreach opportunities.  On Oct. 15, from 3-6 p.m. the Superior Chamber will host an “Insta-meet” where Instagram users can meet up and share their photos.  Come out and take pictures of Superior, share them on Instagram and use the hashtag #IAmSuperior to be considered for photo placement on the new Chamber website.  A $100 gift certificate will be awarded to one lucky photographer who takes photos and uploads them from Oct. 15-16, check in with the Superior Chamber of Commerce for all of the official details.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, there will be tire pick up.  If you have tires in your yard that you need to dispose of, leave them on the curb the night before and local volunteers will pick them up.  Thank you to Pinal County for providing a dumpster for tires.  We are anticipating that our transfer station will be re-opened in early November.  Our public works staff have been working hard to get everything in order.  A community wide free dump day is being planned for Nov. 5.

Our next council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016.  The Council will have a work session at 6 p.m. to discuss the policies for the transfer station, the repairs at the Waste Water Treatment Plant and status on our audits.  Our regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
