Mayor should resign

Since the disconcerting news on Dec. 9 at the Town Council meeting in which we the public learned that our Mayor Jayme Valenzuela had taken cash withdrawals from Town of Superior

Bank acct. we have heard nothing from Town Hall or the Mayor.  I am publicly asking our Town Council to have a full investigation from DPS or AZ Attorney General Office.  I also ask the

other council members to request the Mayor’s resignation due to the fact that he has disregarded transparency and our trust again. Once could have been a mistake but EIGHT times is not a mistake.

I also ask that council members do all this in public.  I am not sure members know that if they talk or email to two other council members and then one of those also speak or email another

council member about the same thing that is an infraction of Open Meeting Law.  In the past we know there have been occasions of this.  Town business must be done in public and quite frankly it is not. It is being done in secret.  Please begin conducting business in public not everything has to be done in executive session as it is currently.

I also applaud Rachelle Sanchez for going with a public hearing otherwise we would not know of what the Mayor had done.  I am sorry you were treated so badly by Superior Admin. and some council members.  The vote should have died that night and the Mayor should not have voted as it was a conflict in everyone’s eyes. This matter should have been tabled.

  Sincerely,

/s/ Pamela Rabago
