Marta A. Contreras

  Marta A Contreras, 94, peacefully entered into Heaven on Jan. 26, 2018 in her home in Hayden.  She was born on July 3, 1923 in Hayden, AZ to Manuela and Cruz Aguirre. 

  Marta is survived by her two sisters, Irene Velasco and Maria Buso; sons, Bobby Contreras and Rogelio Contreras; daughter, Norberta Gonzales; granddaughters, Maggie Contreras, Tori Contreras, Crystal Allen, Melissa Gomez, Monica Gomez, Leticia Contreras, and Tina Gomez; grandsons, Theodore Gomez, Dickie Contreras, and Roy Contreras. She also had 28 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Her brother, Alfredo Aguirre, passed away just hours before Marta’s death.

  Marta was a very caring and strong woman who opened her heart to everyone. She was also a caretaker to the neighborhood and enjoyed cooking for everyone. Marta was a homemaker who took pride in raising everyone in her family and always made sure everyone was taken care of. We will forever miss her smile and laugh, and her presence will always be with us.

  Joint funeral services for Marta and her brother Alfredo held on Saturday, Feb. 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden, AZ, with viewing at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Marta’s interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden. May they both rest in peace.
