Marcelino E. ‘Marc’ Figueroa III

  Marcelino E. Figueroa III “Marc”, 55, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on Oct. 21, 2018, in Phoenix, AZ.  He was born on Nov. 13, 1962, in Superior, AZ, to Marcelino and Rosie Figueroa.  Marc was employed as an Employee Relations Officer with DES/Human Resources Administration in Phoenix, AZ. 

  Prior to working with DES, he worked as a Letter Carrier for US Postal Service in the Phoenix area for 5 years after he retired from the Navy.

  Marc retired as a YN1 from the US Navy on July 31, 2002 after serving 20 years.  He received numerous awards and letters of commendation while in the Navy. 

  He received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Communications from Arizona State University in 2011. 

  He received his Associate’s Degree in General Business Administration from South Mountain Community College in 2008 where he was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. 

  Survivors include his spouse, E. Todd Francis, of Phoenix; son, Raul Angel Figueroa, Phoenix; brothers, Chris Contreras, James Figueroa of Superior, Johnny Figueroa of Oregon, sisters, Kathy (John) Noriega, Angela (Eddie) Figueroa, Elizabeth Figueroa, and Tanya (John) Tomerlin, all of Superior.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Charlotte Francis, of Gallup, NM, father-in-law, Emmett Francis of Window Rock, AZ, sister-in-law, Karen (Bernard) Begay, of Tucson, AZ.  He has many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Great Grand Nieces and Nephews.

  He is preceded in death by his parents Marcelino and Rosie Figueroa, and nephew David P. Noriega.

  Services were held October 27, 2018 at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Superior, AZ.  He was laid to rest at Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Superior, AZ, with full military honors.
