FLORENCE – Law enforcement apprehended 39-year-old Superior man Antonio Jose Ramirez on May 2, 2013 for allegedly making threats against Kennedy Elementary and Superior Junior/Senior High School employees.
The Pinal County Attorney’s probable cause statement alleges that on Nov. 17, 2011, Ramirez left a voice mail message at Kennedy Elementary School threatening to burn them and that on April 24, 2013, he made a threat against a school employee stating he would blow her up, everyone at her residence, and both Kennedy Elementary and Superior Junior/Senior High Schools. Due to the nature of the threats, normal operation of the school was disrupted.
According to the petition for arrest warrant and the County Attorney’s complaint, Ramirez faces three – class 6 felony counts for the alleged incidents and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. All charges are merely accusations and Ramirez is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
