Mammoth Police Report – May 4, 2016

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to the San Manuel Miner by the Mammoth Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

April 18

  A man was reported trying to drive while intoxicated. An officer responded and spoke with both parties.

  An officer on patrol noticed a hole in the wall of the building at God’s Filling Station. The owner was contacted and reported that items were stolen.

April 19

  A traffic accident was reported on Dungan Ave.

April 20

  A concerned citizen came in to the station and wanted an envelope tested for possible drugs.

April 23

  A fire hydrant on Veteran’s Memorial Road was reported to be leaking. San Manuel Fire Department was notified.

  A party called and reported an injured coyote on Child’s Street. An officer responded but was unable to locate the coyote.

  A fraudulent check was taken to the Mammoth Police Department. The check was turned over to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office as it is in their jurisdiction.

  A party reported two missing juveniles in Mt. Lemmon Road area.

  Samuel Wright was arrested on a warrant.

April 24

  Pinal County officers requested the San Manuel Fire Department to assist with a beehive on McNab and Main St. PCSO was advised to call a local beekeeper.

  A party called and requested a welfare check on River Road. They were advised to call Pinal County Sheriff as it is their jurisdiction.

  A fire was reported off of Hwy. 77 near milepost 119. An officer responded and determined it was a controlled fire.

  Calls not listed include: medical assist (10), animal complaint (2), vacation house check/welfare check (1), fingerprints (2), warrant issued/cleared (1) and traffic stop (5).
