Mammoth Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

Items are given to the San Manuel Miner by the Mammoth Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

Aug. 20

A family disturbance was reported on Owens St.

Aug. 21

A dead deer was reported on Hwy. 77 at milepost 109. Deer was reported in the middle of the north bound lane. DPS was advised.

Aug. 22

The San Manuel Fire Department was called to respond to an area just over Peppersauce Canyon. A woman 45 years of age was reported to have fallen and was approximately 150 feet down a canyon. Engine 682 responded. The female patient transported by helicopter to a Tucson hospital.

A party reported a possible burglary at her house on Hetzel Ave. A front window was broken. Officer responded and saw that the window was broken from the outside. Nothing was reported missing.

A report of a theft on E. Bar was received. Reporting party said some block is missing and he noticed the same block in his neighbor’s yard. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was notified and responded.

An electric pole on Catalina Avenue was reported on fire. Fire Department and BIA responded to location.

A single vehicle accident on Hwy. 77 near mile post 125, Aravaipa, was reported.

A woman called and reported someone in her yard. All the gates to her yard are locked and the suspect was wearing white. An officer responded and completed a sweep of her yard and residence. The reporting party requested a house watch through out the night.

Aug. 23

A party on Owens Street reported someone was ringing her doorbell and has been doing so since 4 a.m. An officer responded and checked the area. The reporting party was told that the Mammoth Police Department would up the patrols in the area.

A 911 call was received reporting a spark and smoke was seen coming from the BIA Chacanaca Sub Station and the power was out. BIA and Mammoth Fire Department responded.

Aug. 24

A theft was reported at 18575 Hwy. 77. An officer responded.

Calls not listed include: medical (17), animal complaint (2), warrant entered/cleared (1), fire (6), loud music (2), agency assist (1), funeral escort (1), fingerprints (3) and motorist assist (1).
