Mammoth Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

June 20

A report of an online debit theft was taken. The transaction was unauthorized. The reporting party said she had received a replacement card.

An officer reported that during a traffic stop on Main Street, a subject in the vehicle fled on foot. The subject is known to the officer.

June 21

Reporting party called to inform MPD that he worked for O’Brien & Sons LLC Towing out of Winkelman and they had just repossessed a vehicle in Oracle. The vehicle would be stored at Ray Federal Credit Union in Kearny.

A report of a water leak at a home on Rolfs Ave. was received. Homeowner is out of town and the house sitter could not turn off the water. Public works was notified. Reporting party later advised he had been able to shut off the water with the help of a friend.

June 22

Reporting party requested an officer to a location on Highway 77. Two of the reporting party’s tenants were involved in a verbal argument and it was getting louder. Officer arrived but the two tenants had left.

Theft of condoms was reported from Circle K.

Theft of cigars was reported from Circle K.

June 23

An officer was requested to an address on Hwy. 77. Reporting party said they were watching a tenant remove her stuff from the room. Reporting party said she noticed what she believed to be baggie of marijuana across the room. An officer responded and contacted his supervisor. Officer was advised that no action was necessary due to possible illegal search and seizure violations. The reporting party was advised that she can terminate the rental contract and refuse service to the tenant. The reporting party later dropped off the drugs at the station.

June 25

Officer reported an open door was discovered at the Senior League Field. Area was cleared by officers.
