Mammoth Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

Sept. 5

A report of a potential domestic violence incident was reported. Reporting party requested officers to an address on Hwy. 77. Officers responded.

Sept. 6

Possible criminal damage was reported at the Little League field. Someone with a flashlight was seen running from the scene. Reporting party said that the bathroom lock appeared to be broken and there was spray paint on the wall.

Reporting party called and said there were two mountain lions in her back yard located on Main St. She advised that this was the third time they have been in her backyard. Game and Fish was notified.

Sept. 7

Officers responded to a neighbor dispute at apartment complex on Hwy. 77. Reporting party said his daughter’s neighbor gave her some Blu Ray DVDs and then took them back.

Sept. 8

Officers responded to apartment complex on Hwy. 77. Reporting party said his neighbor was still contacting them with negative text messages after agreeing not to have any contact.

Report of a motion detector at Corkers reporting motion from the interior of north side of the store. Officers responded, building was secured. There was no sign of entry.

Party on Riverside Dr. reported alleged harassment of her grandchildren by a male party. She wanted it documented as the same party has harassed her grandchildren before.

Report of a possible domestic violence incident on Tiger Dr. Intoxicated person swung a bat at a teenage girl but missed. Officers responded and spoke to a person at the home. Everything was under control.

Report of a domestic violence incident in progress on Tiger Dr. Officer responded but suspect was gone upon arrival and he could not be located. Officer spoke to the victims and gathered all information.

Sept. 9

Reporting party says her son is getting bullied by another kid at school. School was notified and will handle the issue.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on Main St. Vehicle was gone upon the officer’s arrival.

Sept. 10

Reporting Party called about death threats made against her six-year-old daughter by another male student (age unknown). The incident was reported about three weeks ago to First Avenue School and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. On Sept. 9, the suspect allegedly took a BB gun to school and on the bus on the way home from San Manuel First Avenue School fired the gun. The bus driver stopped the bus and searched everyone’s back pack until finding the weapon. The reporting party also stated that the suspect had made out a hit list and her child was on it. All this information has been reported to San Manuel First Avenue School and Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. The Mammoth Police Chief spoke with the reporting party and school officials. The school officials advised him they were handling the situation.

A report of inappropriate behavior at the Mammoth Elementary School. A male child in first grade pulled down the shorts of another kid. The school officials are handling the situation.

An officer was called to the Mammoth Fire Station to mediate a meeting. Officer described the meeting as cordial and everyone being compliant.

Other calls not reported included: fingerprints (4), house/welfare checks (3), animal calls (4), warrant entries (1) and medical assists (5).
