The inaugural Mammoth Christmas Light Parade is set to be held on Saturday, Dec. 21 beginning at 6 p.m. The floats and marchers for the Electric Light Parade will assemble at the Old Mammoth Jail House on Main Street at 5 p.m. The parade will travel down Main Street to the Lions Club where it will end. The parade theme is Disney. There are currently 16 parade entries with more expected. Those interested can still enter a float in the parade up until the deadline of Dec. 16. At the Lions Club there will be food and entertainment. A group of seniors will be selling menudo. There will also be green chile burros, nachos, soda, water and hot chocolate for sale. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and maybe some elves will be talking with the kids and handing out candy and treats filled stockings.
A meeting will be held at the Mammoth Lions Club on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. People who have entered the parade are urged to attend to finalize the plans for the event and to talk about how the parade will assemble and proceed down Main Street. Stay updated on the 2013 Mammoth Light Parade on Mammoth AZ Bulletin Board Facebook pages. This event is being brought by Pedro Young and Kevin Waddell with the support of many community members. Help the Mammoth Christmas Light Parade become a success in its first year of what can become an annual event.
