Magdalena “Nena” Becerra

  Magdalena “Nena” Becerra, “Mrs. B” died peacefully at her home Jan. 31, 2018 surrounded by her family.

  She was born January 2, 1933 to Luis and Rita Gomez in Santa Rita, New Mexico.

  Nena married Jesus Becerra on Oct. 10, 1953. They moved to Mammoth where they made their home and raised their family.

  Mrs. B. was very proud of her family. She always made her children, grandchildren, great grand children and great, great grandchildren 

feel special and loved. Anyone who came by to visit, she welcomed with open arms.

  In Mrs. B’s younger years she was active in the Tri-Community. She was president of the P.T.A., active with the Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Altar Society, helped with bingo nights, church fiestas, and singing in the choir.

  She is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Rita Gomez; brothers and sisters. Manuel, Socorro, Olivia, Consuelo, Angela, Luis, Gilbert and Olin;  great grandchildren, Nicky and Luke Burnham; and great-great-grandson, Alessandro Burnham.

  Nena is  survived by her husband of 64 years, Jesus Becerra; children, Elizabeth (Freddy Sr.) Burnham, Grace Sargent, Richard (Yolanda), 

Margaret (Richard) Woodward, John (Melissa), Sonia (Paul) Cubbage and Anna Gleason;  20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 15

great-great-grandchildren.

  Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Mammoth on Saturday, Feb. 24, with Rosary beginning at 10 a.m. and the Mass at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the church hall.
