Lupe Santa Maria Carranza

  Lupe Santa Maria Carranza of Hayden passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018. She was 92 years old. 

  Lupe Santa Maria was born in Hayden, Arizona on Dec. 15, 1925 to loving parents Jesus and Josefa (Bravo) Santa Maria. There she was raised with her 7 siblings. She married the love of her life, Salvador Carranza. Together they had a son, Edmundo Carranza.

  Lupe loved spending her time with her family and she loved crocheting.

  Lupe is preceded in death by her husband Salvador, parents Jesus and Josefa Santa Maria, sister Josephine S. Carrasco, and brothers Jesus, David and Richard Santa Maria.

  Lupe is survived by her son Edmundo Carranza, Grandchildren Brandon Carranza, Joel Carranza, Christina Pierce, and 5 Great Grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters Antonia Romero and Mercedes Miranda, her brother Frank “Kili” Santa Maria, and numerous nieces and nephews.

  The family would like to recognize Margaret Hewitt and Geneva Sisto from Thema Health Care for the excellent care they gave Lupe in her final days.

  Services for Lupe were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden, AZ. Lupe was laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson.
