Nancy Large the treasurer of the Mammoth Senior Center Group helps prepare lunches on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at noon at the community center in Mammoth. The cost is $5. Large said, “The group tends to leave politics at the door and enjoy light and friendly conversations during lunch and usually games afterwards. We are about having a good time and sharing good food.”

Many people in the community are unable to travel long distances so the Mammoth Senior Group tries to help out people by offering an inexpensive lunch and a good time to get out and meet with others in the community. Some of the games they play, such as bingo, can help stimulate the mind and keeps reactions sharp. The sense of camaraderie amongst this group runs deep. It’s amazing how much they enjoy each other’s company and share information they have to help each other.

The Mammoth Senior Group participated in the light parade last year and they have other special events that they plan to participate in the future. If you know of any seniors or anyone interested in attending these luncheons and making plans for future events, please feel free to contact via email at ecls7576@hotmail.com. All community members are welcome, Dave Plummer from Pinal Rural Fire enjoys attending even though he is not a senior yet, but he said, “I enjoy the company and always have a good time.” The friendships and information that can be gained are irreplaceable.
