Terry Newman received the Silver Beaver Award at the Boy Scout Council banquet on March 11, 2016. The Silver Beaver Award is presented upon action of a Council Executive Board or the Direct Service Council. This award is for outstanding service to youth within the Council or for outstanding longtime service to youth by a registered Scouter residing within that Council. The average tenure for Silver Beaver candidates is 10 years or longer. The recipient is an individual who has made an impact on the lives of youth through service. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it. Candidates for this award must be nominated. Congratulations, Terry! And a thank you from all of the Boy Scouts who received the benefit of your service.
