For the first time in 65 years of existence, the San Pedro Valley Lion’s Club in Mammoth hosted the 21B District Cabinet meeting.
The San Pedro Valley Lion’s Club is one of only six clubs in the state that have their own “den” building where they hold their meetings.
The District Cabinet Meetings are usually held at a conference center or hotel with banquet facilities. President of the San Pedro Valley Lions, Billy Romero lobbied to hold the meeting in Mammoth and save the clubs some money.
Over 100 people from other Lion’s Clubs in 21B District attended the cabinet meeting. The District Governor, other past district governors and a past international director showed up as well as presidents of other clubs.
The cabinet meeting discussed upcoming business for the entire district. The district includes clubs from as far away as Nogales and Benson up to Miami and the Mesa area.
The Copper Corridor Leos were inducted. The Leos are a youth group of Lions that are learning community service.
After the meetings, some of the Lions visited the Miner’s Memorial and the Ralph Hererra Shooting Range.
