Superior – On Thursday, April 16, Ms. Leslie, from the Copper Gecko store visited the Superior Head Start children and spoke to them about being a business owner. The children participated in purchasing/ vendor role play, and were given an example of how items for the Copper Gecko are acquired.
After eager conversation between Ms. Leslie and the children, she presented the children with gifts, as well as a postcard, an Apache tear rock, and, a book about Superior to use and to display in the classroom.
The visit and interactions with members of the business community provides unique opportunities for school readiness skills, and, enhances the children’s social emotional skills.
The children’s last class day will be Wednesday, May 20. The children will participate in a certificate ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
