Learn to Play Guitar Instantly in Queen Creek’s Recreation Class

If you have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but are never able to find the time for lessons, you will want to mark your calendar for Sept. 10, 6:30-9:00 p.m. That’s when Queen Creek Parks and Recreation brings in Craig Coffman to teach his very popular class, Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy Adults and Teens. The class will be held at the Library Recreation Annex at 21802 S. Ellsworth Road.

This one-session class will teach you the basics about playing chords on the guitar so you can start having fun right away playing your favorite songs. Instructor Coffman has been teaching a very similar class on the piano for over 15 years.

“Over 20,000 students have attended my “Instant Piano” class with great results and it occurred to me that the same principles apply to the guitar,” said Coffman. “Many young people want to learn the guitar but the time and money involved in taking private lessons keeps them away. With this class I am able to give them enough information and tools that they can go home right away and teach themselves what they want to learn.”

Whether you want to learn how to play simple tunes and get started right away, or you want to build a foundation to go further, Coffman will meet your learning objectives. You don’t need to know anything at all about music or the guitar to attend the class. The class is designed for the absolute beginner. No one will be put “on the spot” or embarrassed. If you have the desire and the motivation to practice, you can learn this instrument. The emphasis is on learning for your own enjoyment and having fun.

The cost of the class is $30 for Town of Queen Creek residents and $40 for non-residents, and there is a supply fee of $29. The supply fee includes a workbook and practice DVD. Register online or call Queen Creek Parks and Recreation at 480-358-3700. Be sure to bring your acoustic guitar.
