by The Superior Girls’ basketball team won for the first time in last six games, defeating Miami 43 – 33 last Wednesday at home. It was the Panthers first win since Jan. 12, when they defeated Gilbert Classical Academy.
Senior Silvia Longoria scored a game-high 17 points in the win. Jalisa Murray and Phalicitee Thomas each scored seven points against the Vandals. The duo also combined to grab 21 rebounds, including a game-high 11 by Thomas.
Junior Maribel Castro recorded five steals to lead Superior while Thomas came up with four.
Upcoming schedule: Feb. 2 vs. San Carlos and Feb. 5 at Mogollon. Both games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
