Lady Panthers remain undefeated

The Lady Panthers won their sixth consecutive game to start the season with a win versus Desert Christian last Friday, 13 – 10. It was the Panthers first game in nine days.

Cierra Navarrette and Elizabeth Ochoa each had 4 hits versus the Eagles. Navarrette also had 5 RBI. Ariana San Miguel was 1-for-2 with 3 RBI in the game. Sophomore Ivie Lopez picked up another pitching victory.

Upcoming schedule: Mar. 27 @ Arizona Lutheran Academy (2:00 p.m.), Mar. 28 @ Miami (10:00 a.m.), Mar. 28 vs. Millenium (2:00 p.m.), Mar. 28 @ Salt River (5:00 p.m.). Please check with the school or the team to confirm locations of the games. Some games may be part of a tournament and played at a neutral site.

Andy Luberda began writing for Copper Area News Publishers (CANP) in February 2013 after working15 years in Healthcare Financial Management. Andy covers sports for eight high schools. In May 2012, he earned an AAS in Sports Management at Central Arizona College. Andy is currently earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from ASU’s Hugh Downs School of Communication. Andy is scheduled to complete his degree December 2014. He was born and raised in Des Plaines, Ill. In 1992, he relocated to Arizona. After a short return to Des Plaines in 1997, he returned to the Phoenix area two years later. He and his wife, Kelli, have three sons – AJ, Kyle, and Kade.
