The Panthers’ girls’ basketball team won their first game of the season on December 4, 2013 at Thunderbird Academy, 38 – 8.

It was balanced scoring effort from Panthers to go along with a determined defensive effort to earn the victory. Nine Panthers’ players scored in the game. Senior Mariza Padilla led all scorers with eight points in the game. Freshman Elizabeth Ochoa hit the team’s only three-point field goal in the game. Ariana San Miguel was three for four from the free throw line. Junior Hunter Flanagan finished with 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers.

The Panthers have four games remaining before the holiday break beginning with a game at San Manuel on December 10. They’ll battle Ray on December 11 before games at Hayden (Dec. 17) and home versus Miami (Dec. 20). All games start at 5:30 p.m.
