After losing three-straight games against ranked teams, including No. 2 Arizona Lutheran, No., 4 Veritas Prep, and No. 19 Hayden, the eighth-ranked Lady Panthers returned to their winning ways, defeating 18th-ranked Ft. Thomas last Thursday, 7 – 2.

With the game tied 1 – 1 after three innings, the Lady Panthers scored two runs in each of the next three innings to secure their sixth win of the season.

Superior cranked out seven doubles in the game with Phalicitee Thomas and Gabby Salcido each hitting two. Jalisa Murray, Ariana San Miguel, and Cierra Navarrette each hit one.

Salcido, a junior, went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Thomas, Murray, San Miguel, and Navarrette each drove in one run in the victory.

Freshman Alicia Arriola picked up the complete-game win, allowing only two runs, one earned, on four hits. She fanned 11 Apaches’ hitters and walked three. The win was her second of the year in as many starts.

Upcoming schedule: Apr. 9 vs. Miami and Apr. 13 at Salome. Both games are scheduled for 4 p.m.
