The Superior girls’ basketball team played four games in last weekend’s Copper Cities Girls’ Basketball Tournament in Globe. The Lady Panthers’ only victory at the tournament came against Florence as they defeated the Lady Gophers, 25 – 8.
Senior Hunter Flanagan led all scorers with nine points, going 7 for 10 from the free throw line. Freshman Jalisa Murray and sophomore Maribel Castro pounded the glass for the Lady Panthers, finishing with 10 and 7 rebounds, respectively.
Cierra Navarrette filled the stat sheet for the Lady Panthers with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.
Upcoming schedule: Dec. 10 at Ray, Dec. 16 vs. Hayden. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
