Lady Miners Track team wins 56th Annual San Manuel Rotary Invitational; Miners finish Runners-Up

The San Manuel High School Track team recently hosted the 56th Annual San Manuel Rotary Track Meet on April 26 with the Lady Miners team capturing the Rotary Championship and the Miners team finishing with a strong Runners –Up Championship just behind Canyon State. There were 12 teams taking part in the annual competition.

For the Lady Miners results: in the 100m: finishing in 6th place was Lizzette Campa with a time of 13.85; in the 400m: finishing in 3rd place was Jennie Valenzuela with a time of 1:13.86, and finishing in 6th place was Melanie Ouellette with a time of 1:16.34; in the 800m: finishing in 3rd place was Selena Duarte with a time of 3:23.02; in the 1600m: finishing in 5th place was Selena Duarte with a time of 6:59.02; in the 3200m: finishing in 4th place was Diana Medina with a time of 17:00.99; in the 100m Hurdles: finishing in 3rd place was Rosa Reyes with a time of 20.49; in the 4x800m Relay was the team of Sabrina Duarte, Selena Duarte, Aubri Estada, and Diana Medina finishing in 3rd place with a time of 13:07.89; in the 4x100m Relay the team of Maritza Estrada, Nicole Predgo, Lizzette Campa, and Ronzi Carbajal finishing in 2nd place with a time of 58.71; in the 4x400m Relay the team of Jennie Valenzuela, LizzetteCampa, Ronzi Carbajal, and Aubri Estrada finishing in 3rd place with a time of 5:02.82; in the Shotput: finishing in 3rd place was Maxi Lara with a throw of 27’0”, finishing in 4th place was Ani Robles with a throw of 25’03.50”; in the Discus: finishing in 3rd place was Maxi Lara with a throw of 86’08” and finishing in 5th place was Ani Robles with a throw of 80’08”; in the High Jump: finishing in 2nd place was Ani Robles with a jump of 4’6”; in the Pole Vault: finishing in 1st place was Ani Robles with a jump of 5’0”; in the Long Jump: finishing in 3rd place was Nicole Predgo with a jump of 13’08”, and finishing in 6th place was Rosa Reyes with a jump of 12’04”; in the Triple Jump: finishing in 3rd place was Nicole Predgo with a jump of 28’0” , finishing in 4th place was Rosa Reyes with a jump of 26’6”.

For the Miners results: in the 100m: finishing in 7th place was Sergio Hernandez with a time of 11.93; in the 400m: finishing in 3rd place was Nathaniel Lopez with a time of 55.91; in the 1600m: finishing in 5th place was Colton Stratton with a time of 11:54.25; in the 3200m: finishing in 3rd place was Colton Stratton with a time of 11:54.25; in the 110m Hurdles: finishing in 1st place was Wayne Newman with a time of 14.12(new school record) finishing in 6th place was Andres Rodriguez with a time of 19.61; in the 300m Hurdles : finishing in 1st place was Wayne Newman with a time of 38.97, and finishing in 6th place was Jared Gonzales with a time of 44.19; in the 4x800m Relay was the team of Patrick Lopez, Colton Stratton, Jared Gonzales, and James Duarte finishing in 4th place with a time of 9:21.52; in the 4x100m Relay was the team of Randy Verdugo, Antonio Montes, Christian Cazares, and Yordi Garcia finishing in 4th place with a time of 51.32; in the 4x400m Relay was the team of Christian Cazares, Jared Gonzales, Sergio Hernandez, and Nathaniel Lopez finishing in 3rd place with a time of 3:49.49; in the Shot Put: finishing in 5th place was Yordi Garcia with a throw of 38’09”; in the High Jump: finishing in 1st place was Wayne Newman with a jump of 6’02”; in the Pole Vault: finishing in 1st place was Wayne Newman with a jump of 8’6”, finishing in 2nd place was Patrick Lopez with a jump of 7’0”, and finishing in 3rd place was Nathaniel Lopez with a jump of 6’6”; in the Triple Jump: finishing in 5th place was Sergio Hernandez with a jump of 33’05”.

The coaches have chosen Nathaniel Lopez and Maxi Lara as athletes of the week. The Miners hosted the Divison IV South Sectional Meet last week.
