Lady ‘Cats post loss to San Carlos

Bearcat girls basketball opened 2013 with a loss to San Carlos. The Lady ‘Cats trailed the Lady Braves 14-16 at the end of the first quarter, and stayed close with a 30-32 score at the half.

San Carlos increased their lead in the third quarter to 36-47 and really turned it on to finish the game with a 42-63 loss for Ray.

Top scorers for Ray included freshman Stormee Galka with 13 points followed by Savannah Willis with 12 points; Angela Fuentes, Breaunna Hathaway and Christina Coryell with 4 points; Lucy Sainz with 3 points and Sidney Chenowith with 2 points.

Next up for the Lady ‘Cats are games at San Manuel on Jan. 15, Globe on Jan. 18, and Greenfield on Jan. 19.

Congratulations to the Ray High School Spiritline for their second place finish in both Cheer and Pom Competition held his last week-end at the 3rd Annual Gila Valley Spiritline Invitational at Pima High School.
