The Ray Bearcats’ girls’ basketball team jumped out to a 17-point first quarter lead on its way to 47 – 29 victory over Scottsdale Christian on December 5, 2013.
The ‘Cats were led by sophomore Savannah Willis and junior Sidney Chenoweth with 18 and 12 points scored, respectively. The 47 points scored by the Bearcats was their second highest scoring total of the season.
A total of eight players scored for the ‘Cats in game. Ashley Meza, Breauna Hathaway, Elissa Rodriguez, Christina Correll, Destiny Guerena, and Allysa Setelo all tallied at least one point.
After the win against the Eagles, the ‘Cats dropped their next three games against La Joya Community, Pima, and Amphitheater. The team’s record now stands at 2 – 4.
The Bearcats return to action with their last four games in eight days before the holiday break. They’ll take on San Carlos at home on December 10 before three straight road games, beginning at Superior on December 11 and followed by a game at Duncan on December 14. The games against San Carlos and Superior will begin at 5:30 with the game versus Duncan tipping off at 3:00 p.m.
