The Ray Bearcats girls’ basketball team ended its four-game losing streak by beating the Superior Panthers, 35 – 26. It was the ‘Cats third victory of the year.
The Bearcats trailed the Panthers by three points at the half and the teams were tied, 21 – 21, at the end of three quarters. The ‘Cats took control in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Panthers 14 – 5 to earn the win.
Sophomore Stormee Galka remained sidelined from injury and did not play, leaving the rest of the team to pick up the slack in her absence. Sidney Chenoweth continued her solid play and led the ‘Cats with 11 points while senior Breauna Hathaway added nine points. Sophomore Savannah Willis finished with eight points.
The Bearcats will next play at Cibecue on December 17, 2013 at 5:30.
