Keeping the Faith and Finishing the Race

In Jeremiah 18:1-10, we find the prophet visiting a potter to watch him work.  The basic message from God is this:  I, the Lord, shape and mold you as a potter does his clay.  I shape, mold and form your life to My plans, so that you may accomplish My will for you.

The potter carefully and lovingly works the clay, shaping it into a vessel capable of being used for its intended purpose.  God lovingly shapes and defines us for His holy purposes.

The clay goes through a long process of kneading, shaping and firing.  If it could speak and feel pain, it would probably complain about all it has to endure and experience – just like we do.

God has plans for us.  Those plans require that He teach us, reprove us, correct us and set us on the right path of life.  He provides us with whatever is needed for the goal to be reached.  He puts the right people into our life to help us finish gracefully and with honor.

Paul stated in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”  That which God has begun in our life, He will complete and bless.  Keep the faith and finish your race – you will win!
