Kearny Police Report Dec. 1 -6

According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.

Dec. 1

Several verbal warnings were issued including one for speed, one for a headlight violation, and four for stop sign violations.

An animal detail other than dog bite was attended to.

A 911 hang-up call was investigated. All was well

Dec. 2

Three bulls were reported at Kearny Lake. Owner was located.

Citizen assist with a disabled vehicle on the 300 block of Croydon.

Five verbal warnings were issued for stop sign violations.

Dec. 3

A request was received for extra patrol.

Theft was reported on the 100 block of Allen Dr.

Alvaro Rene Rivera, 26 of Kearny, was arrested for theft and on a warrant out of Kearny Magistrate Court. After an appearance in court he was released.

Dec. 4

A welfare check was requested on the 300 block of Hartford.

An identity theft was reported.

A request was received for extra patrol.

Agency assist to DPS with a rock slide on Hwy 177.

Dec. 5

Citizen assist with a fingerprint request.

An animal detail other than dog bite was attended to.

Dec. 6

Preston Ray Mariscal, 21 of Kearny, was arrested for public consumption. He was cited and released.

Citizen assist with keys locked inside vehicle.

A debit card was found at gas pumps at Gordon’s IGA and turned into the police department.

Other calls included 8 ambulance runs and three information reports.
