According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.
Aug. 10
Alfred Ray Lechuga, 39 of Kearny, was arrested on two warrants, one out of Coolidge and one out of Florence. He was transported to Florence and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
Aug. 11
Justin James Johnson, 30 of Hayden, was arrested on a warrant out of San Manuel/Mammoth J.P. Court. He was transported to Florence and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
Nelson Paul West, 43 of Oracle, was arrested for possession/use/drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released with further action pending.
Aug. 13
James F. Page, 62 of Kearny, was arrested for criminal trespass. He was cited and released.
An assault was reported on the 400 block of Essex.
Aug. 14
A B.B. gun was found at Hubbard Park and turned into the Police Department.
Aug. 17
A scooter along with a wooden skateboard was found on Tilbury Rd. and turned into the Police Department.
Aug 18
Criminal damage was reported at Rio Vista Trailer Park. A section of drywall and bathroom tile in the shower room was apparently kicked in by persons unknown.
Aug 19
A burglary was reported on the 400 block of Greenwich. Items missing included jewelry.
Aug 20
Alfred Ray T. Lechuga, 39 of Kearny, was arrested for driving on a suspended license/no current registration/no proof of insurance. He was cited and released and the vehicle was towed for a mandatory impoundment.
Other calls last week included 11 ambulance runs; six information reports; three motorist assists; one 911 hang-up; three citizen assists; two open door reports; and one speeding vehicle complaint.
Last week, a written warning was issued for failure to control speed to avoid a collision; and verbal warnings included one for barking dog; and one for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
Other calls included 12 ambulance runs; one extra patrol request; one citizen assist; five information reports; three animal details other than dog bite; one agency assist; one vacation house check request; one alarm drop; two court order details; one motorist assist; three 911 hang ups; and one civil standby.
One citation was written for failure to control speed to avoid collision; written warnings included one for a stop sign violation and verbal warnings were for a park hour violation; a curfew violation; a stop sign violation; speed; and driving left of center.
