Kearny Police Report

According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.

Oct. 5

A verbal warning was issued for speed.

A citation was for no proof of insurance.

Suspicious activity related to an unwanted person was reported on the 400 block of Jamestown.

A report was received of smoke or dust near the Church of Christ. It was determined that a contractor was working on the tower using a concrete saw.

Agency assist to DPS with a dead animal in the roadway on Hwy 177.

Two animal details other than dog bite were reported. Both reports concerned dead dogs.

Oct. 6

Extra patrol was requested on the 400 block of Jamestown.

Oct. 7

Citizen assist with a request of fingerprinting.

Oct. 8

A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested for assault/domestic violence. He was transported to Florence and booked into the Pinal County Juvenile Center.

A noise disturbance (loud music) was reported on the 300 block of Fairhaven.

Oct. 9

Robert Edmond Itule, 29 of Phoenix, was arrested for driving on a suspended license and speed. He was cited and released and the vehicle was towed.

Oct. 10

A non-injury accident was reported in the Family Dollar parking lot.

Oct. 11

Citizen assist with a locked vehicle.

A citation was issued for speed/driving with a suspended license plate/no proof of insurance.

Oct 12

A dog at large was reported on the 400 block of Ivanhoe.

A citation was issued for speed/no proof of insurance.

A citation was issued for failure to dim lights and a seat belt violation.

A citation was issued for a seat belt violation.

Two written warnings were issued for speed.

A verbal warning was issued for speed.

Oct. 13

A 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested on a warrant out of Pinal County. He was transported to Florence and booked into the Pinal County Juvenile Detention Center.

A verbal warning was issued for a license plate light violation.

Oct. 14

Suspicious activity was reported on the 400 block of Hartford.

Oct. 15

A trailer was red tagged for a residential parking violation.

Oct. 16

A civil standby was requested.

Suspicious activity concerning possible theft of service was reported on the 400 block of Hartford.

A citation was issued for speed.

Clarence Franklin Baptisto, 19 of Tucson, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was cited and released and the vehicle was towed for a mandatory 30 day impoundment.

A written warning was issued for speed.

Oct. 17

A set of keys was found and turned into the police department.

A non-injury accident was reported in the credit union parking lot.

A verbal warning was issued for loud music.

A citation was issued for speed/no drivers license in possession.

During the week of Oct 4 to Oct. 10 there were 10 ambulance runs, seven information reports and two 911 hang-up reports.

During the week of Oct. 11 to Oct. 17 there were five ambulance runs, six information reports and one 911 hang-up report.
