According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.
Sept. 18
Justin Hune, 30 of Kearny, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released and the vehicle was towed for mandatory impoundment.
Sept. 20
Geneva Leann Breneman, 38 of Kearny, was arrested for theft. She was cited and released.
Sept. 24
Nicholas Mark Noland, 26 of New Castle, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released and the vehicle was towed for mandatory impoundment.
Curtis Ray Kelley, 19 of Kearny, was arrested for minor consumption. He was cited and released to a responsible party.
A burglary was reported at the Kearny Elks Lodge.
Sept. 26
Criminal damage was reported to a residence on the 400 block of Jamestown.
Other calls included 10 ambulance runs; two alarm drops; one welfare check; four information reports; one open door report; one juvenile run-away report; three animal details other than dog bite; one agency assist; one extra patrol request; and one juvenile problem.
One citation for speed was written and verbal warnings included two for brake light violations and two for speed.
