Kearny Police Report

According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.

Mar. 15

Harassment by phone was reported.

A dog bite was reported on the 400 block of Hartford. The dog was at large and attacked a young girl walking on the sidewalk causing several minor cuts and bruising. Animal control was contacted.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in the LDS parking lot.

Report of noise disturbance on the 400 block of Jamestown caused by ATV riders. A verbal warning was issued for excessive noise.

A verbal warning was issued for a license plate violation.

A written warning was issued for speed.

Mar. 16

Report of noise disturbance on 300 block of Hartford.

Mar. 17

A verbal warning was issued for trespassing.

A bicycle was found at the LDS Church and turned into the police department.

Mar. 18

Citizen assist request on the 400 block of Essex.

Burglary of a vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Hartford.

Animal detail other than dog bite concerning a rattlesnake in front of the Credit Union. It was determined to be a bull snake and was caught and relocated.

A set of keys were found in the parking area of the old APS building and turned into the police department.

A vacation house check was requested on the 300 block of Hartford.

Mar. 19

Vandalism was reported to the bathrooms at Kearny Lake.

A 911 hang-up was investigated at the General Kearny Inn.

Citizen assist request on the 300 block of Greenwich.

Mar. 20

A field interview was conducted on the 300 block of Essex.

A written warning was issued for a stop sign violation.

Kyle Rodney Sanders, 31 of Kearny, was arrested for burglary in the 3rd degree and possession of burglary tools.

Sara Graciela Romero, 27 of Winkelman, was arrested for burglary in the 3rd degree and possession burglary tools.

Citizen assist with a fingerprinting request.

Citizen assist with a medical emergency on the 400 block of Jamestown.

Fraudulent use of a credit card was reported.

Mar. 21

Agency assist to Hayden Police Department with location of an individual

Suspicious activity was reported on Mountain View.

A verbal warning was issued for suspicious driving.

A verbal warning was issued for seat belt violations.

A welfare check was requested on the 100 block of Hartford.

Four verbal warnings were issued for stop sign violations.

A debit card was found at Gordon’s Market and turned into the police department.

A license plate was found in the area of Upton and Greenwich and turned into the police department.

A report was taken of a hit and run to a parked vehicle near Pioneer Park.

Other calls included three ambulance runs and six information reports.
