Kearny P.E.O. Sisterhood to host rummage and bake sale

P.E.O. Chapter AR will have a rummage and bake sale Thursday, Apr. 11 and Friday, Apr. 12 at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Proceeds of the sale will be used to support P.E.O. philanthropies.

In addition to goods and goodies, raffle tickets will be on sale for a black walnut wolf carving made by Kenneth Morris and a children’s book signed by local author Lynn Morris.

The event will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drawings for the raffle items will be at 1 p.m. on Friday.

The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded January 21, 1869, at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in bringing to women increased opportunities for higher education. There are approximately 6,000 local chapters in the United States and Canada with nearly 250,000 active members.

Chapter AR was organized in Kearny in 1962.
