Kearny man jailed after shooting his grandson

A 76 year-old Kearny man was charged with aggravated assault/serious physical injury following a report of a shooting at a Kearny residence last Thursday.

According to the Kearny Police Department, Daniel Keeney shot his grandson during an argument. Keeney told the police officer he only intended to scare his grandson with the gun when it went off.

The grandson was air-lifted to a hospital with a stomach wound. Keeney was transported to Florence and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
