Town of Kearny

The Kearny Town Council has voted to hire Joseph Turitto as the new Police Chief for Kearny.

His title will be official and the job will begin once the background check is approved, expected to be in the next 4-5 weeks.

The decision to hire him came after the council conducted oral board interviews for the position.

A full bio on Turitto was not available at press time however his LinkedIn profile shows that he has been employed by the City of Glendale, was a Sergeant for the Arizona Department of Transportation Enforcement Compliance Division and is currently a Court Security Officer.  He has also served in the US Military.

Kearny has been using an interim chief for over a year and had been in collaboration with the Towns of Hayden, Mammoth and Winkelman to share a chief of police.  Kearny opted out of the shared chief and started a process to hire their own.  Hayden recently hired Tamatha Villar who will be the shared chief for Hayden/Winkelman and Mammoth.
