Kearny Elks Lodge Hoop Shooters go to district contest

On Saturday, Jan. 5, the six first-place winners of the Kearny Elks Local Hoop Shoot went to Miami to compete in the District contest. Kearny had a great showing.

In the 8- and 9-year-old girls category, Olivia Romero placed fourth. In the 10- and 11-year-old girls, Myranda Figueroa placed second.

In the 12- and 13-year-old boys division, Alex Bravo tied for first and ended up second in a double shoot off. In the 12- and 13-year-old girls, Iiana Goad placed first and will be competing in the State Hoop Shoot on Feb. 9 in Apache Junction.
