On Oct. 6, corporate magician Chris Rose performed at Hayden High School, hosted by the National Junior Honor Society as part of their fundraising efforts. With almost 150 people in attendance, the show had to moved from the mini-stage to the gymnasium to accommodate the overwhelming turnout.
Rose has been performing comedy and magic for over 20 years. He has even appeared on Penn and Teller’s television show “Fool Us.” With this kind of background, it’s no wonder everyone came out to see the show. Seventh grader and NJHS member Aiyana Gonzales had never seen a magic show before and was “excited to see his tricks.”
Needless to say, Rose wowed the crowd with his skills. The show was entertaining and interactive, as he used members of the crowd as his assistants and beckoned the audience to lend him their own powers. Both kids and adults alike could not take their eyes off him as he pulled foam balls out of one kid’s stomach and levitated another in thin air. He even brought an adult on stage, to show that it’s not only young kids that can be amazed by the power of magic.
One student, freshman Pablo Jose Acuna, Jr., was floored by the display. “It was one of the best nights of my life,” he told Copper Basin News.
Good luck to the NJHS on their fundraising and thank you to Chris Rose for being a part of it.
