Judith ‘Judy’ Ruth Brassell

Judith (Judy) Ruth Brassell passed away on June 24, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona.  

Judy was born on July 3, 1941 to Edison and Ruth Landis in Ecorse, Michigan.  After marrying, she moved with her family in 1970 from Michigan to Arizona, eventually settling in Oracle.  Judy divorced, and remarried Jim Brassell, her husband of 34 years.

She graduated with an Associate’s degree from Central Arizona College-Aravaipa.  Judy worked at and managed various convenience markets in Oracle and Mammoth, AZ, and purchased a franchise for a time.  

She was a regular attendee of the Living Word Chapel in Oracle, and was a census volunteer.  Judy was a voracious reader, and avidly enjoyed crochet, embroidery, and quilting.

Judy was preceded in death by her siblings Arlene and Eddie. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, sister Shirley, children Kelly, Tim, Jeff (Kerrey), Daniel (Tobi),  and children by marriage Lisa, Bryan (Cristina), Jason.  Grandchildren include Jennifer (Matt), Chris (Bobbie Joe), Shannon, Josh (Maria), Sean, Kyle, Kevin (Lynnsey), Madelyn, Hannah, Leslie, Aurora, Anastacia, Jeneya, and seven great-grandchildren.
